A pulmonary and critical care clinical nurse specialist, Julie has worked at Stanford University Medical Center for 15 years and in her most recent role acted as clinical specialist for the Thoracic Surgery Service. Her special interests include chronic lung disease and lung transplantation and she has been published in multiple medical and nursing journals. She is an active member of the American Lung Association and the California Thoracic Society where she has served on the executive committee, chaired the Pulmonary Nursing Committee, and currently co-edits the CTSNews, a bi-annual professional publication. Ms. Altinger is a life-long resident of Santa Clara County and has been a member of the MayView Board of Directors for 4 years.
